Welcome Back to Business
Dear Members and Guests,
Welcome back to business after Summer for the final business quarter of the year, I hope you can sit back and take a few minutes to catch up on the AusBG news and events.
The last quarter has been one of the busiest in our history with nine events held.
Those of you that know us well understand our passion for promoting Australian and Arab business ties, so the signing of an MOU between the AACCI (Arab Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and AusBG is an achievement of which we are very proud. The AACCI is the first of a kind with Australia and the Middle East region and further cements the strong bridge between the two regions. The MOU provides; Direct connection with over 450 members and Australian companies wishing to connect with the Middle East, specifically the UAE; Sharing of information by way of newsletter distribution; Joint delegation collaboration - AusBG will have the opportunity to host the Chamber and it's members and be hosted in Australia. We are hoping to see this MOU extended to the other regional business groups and our umbrella organisations ABMA. Full details of the MOU and our mission is included in this newsletter.
Are you an Australian founded or run business in Abu Dhabi? If so you should join our AusBG 50 Club. The 50 club was established to help recognise Australian made businesses here in the capital. Last Thursday the 50 Club members and corporates were exclusively invited by AusBG, H.E Australian Ambassador Arthur Spyrou and NSW Trade Commissioner Moin Anwar to a lunch hosted by His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan at his Palace to welcome and honour the visit of His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret'd), Governor of New South Wales, to Abu Dhabi. If you would like to join the 50 club visit or email firstname.lastname@example.org
AusBG continues to support business excellence by working with AICD (Australian Institute of Company Directors) to promote their International Corporate Directors Course being held in Dubai 8th -12th October. The only program of its kind, the International Company Directors Course helps you to perform at the highest level as a director across borders, gain a deeper understanding of the challenges, issues and opportunities that you will encounter in your global director career. I personally am a Graduate of AICD and can't recommend the course enough for those aspiring or currently are company directors or work with or report to company boards.
Thank you again to our Platinum Sponsors, Etihad, Spinneys and the State Government of Victoria whose ongoing support is invaluable to the success of AusBG and our support of Australian Business in Abu Dhabi.
We hope to see you at one of the upcoming events soon - our next event is 3rd October which is a complimentary event for members and of special interest for expats possibly returning home in the next few years and wishing to minimise tax implications Click here for further details and to book now as spaces are limited.
