As we move into last quarter of the year, there is still a great deal of uncertainty for many Australians both here and at home. The Australian budget is looming just around the corner alongside the realisation that Australia is facing its first recession in nearly 30 years. This teamed with opportunities for some and new horizons for others means the sentiment for Australians in the UAE is mixed for the quarter ahead.
For many Australians, the budget is less of a concern than the issues they are facing traveling to Australia. The announcement by the National Cabinet to increase the caps on international passengers has been welcome news to many Australians around the world. In order to get a better understanding of the situation for those in the UAE and how we can help, we are working with Australian Business Council Dubai to quantify the number of Australians, and the issues they face, trying to return home. If you have yet to fill out the survey please click here for more information.
Our upcoming "Lunch with AusBG webinar", next Thursday 8 October with industry experts, Craig Holding and Steve Douglas from SMATS Groups, will discuss the issues facing those returning home sooner than expected in regards to tax implications and residency status, as well as taking us through the outcomes of the budget and what to expect next.
Regardless of what the next few months holds, be sure to be in touch and stay connected with events and announcements through AusBG.
