Coronavirus and its impact on International Students

Prominent academics from The University of Melbourne, Monash and RMIT in conjunction with VicWISE (Victorian Working Group of International Student Employability) have organised a one-day conference on 10 Feb 2021 to examine international education in the time of global disruption: “Coronavirus and Its Impact on International Students”.
This conference aims to critically examine the impact of the pandemic on aspects of the international student experience, policies, procedures, operations, and people around international education but also to open discussion on the direction of future policy and practice in this space.
The full program includes panels to examine on key concepts around supporting international students during and post-pandemic, employability, mental health, challenges and resilience, and the impact of a pandemic on the future of internationalization. The conference will deliver sessions on the challenges, strategies and resilience of international students, their safety and security, welfare and wellbeing, in the face of a global health crisis and institutional, government and community responses.
